Reel Henrique Mourão 2025
I am a Brazilian-Portuguese cinematographer and documentary filmmaker whose work explores the connections between culture, environment, science and belonging. For more than two decades, I have worked across six continents, documenting stories that emerge where people, landscapes and ecosystems meet.
Throughout my career, I have filmed in more than 25 countries, collaborating with broadcasters, NGOs and international organizations including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, ARTE France, Animal Planet, GloboNews, Canal Futura, Greenpeace and Humanity & Inclusion.
My experience spans indigenous territories, traditional communities, conservation projects, scientific expeditions and humanitarian initiatives across Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia, North America and Oceania.
In addition to documentary cinematography, I specialize in underwater and aerial filmmaking and am a licensed drone operator in both Brazil and the European Union. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, I have extensive experience working in multicultural and remote production environments.
I have been a full member of the Brazilian Society of Cinematography (ABC) since 2020. In 2026, I received the professional designation “ABC” and the ABC Award for Best Cinematography in a Non-Fiction Series. I am also a member of the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE), the Portuguese Documentary Association (APORDOC), the Bambuí Speleological Research Group (GBPE) and the World Adventure Society (WAS).
Whether filming in the Amazon rainforest, indigenous territories, remote islands, conservation areas or humanitarian contexts, I see cinematography as a way of building bridges between people, cultures and landscapes, revealing the forces that connect them and the transformations they create together.
